Baked Brie with Honey and Pecans Recipe by Chef Jenn
Warm, gooey, and just the right amount of indulgent, this Baked Brie with Honey and Pecans is one of those appetizers that looks fancy but couldn’t be easier to pull off. The creamy cheese gets perfectly melty in the oven, then gets topped with a drizzle of sweet honey and crunchy toasted pecans for an irresistible contrast of flavors and textures.

This is my go-to when I need something elegant in a pinch. It takes just minutes to prep and delivers that wow-factor every time. Pair it with crisp apples, juicy grapes, or your favorite bread, and you’ve got a centerpiece-worthy starter that everyone will dive into. Whether it’s for a holiday spread, a wine night, or a cozy weekend snack, this baked Brie always steals the show.

Ingredients
- Brie – Double cream brie makes the gooiest baked brie, but any kind will work.
- Honey – Or maple syrup.
- Pecans – Toast them first for extra crunch.
- Rosemary sprig – A wee bit of fresh rosemary adds so much flavor.
- Crostini, bruschetta, French bread, or crackers
- Grapes – Or apple slices.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Place the Brie in the bottom half of its wooden box or into a small, oven-safe ceramic dish. I love using a mini cast iron skillet here; it heats evenly, keeps the Brie warm longer, and looks beautiful on a serving board.

Score the top of the Brie with shallow slits about ½ inch apart. A cheese wire or slicer makes this super easy and helps avoid sticking or pulling the soft rind—especially useful if your Brie is extra creamy.

Set the Brie (in the skillet or box) on a baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until it feels soft and melty inside.

Carefully remove from the oven and place on your serving tray. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup, then sprinkle on chopped pecans. I like using a mini silicone spatula for the honey—it lets me spread and drizzle without waste or sticky fingers. Garnish with rosemary, if using.
Serve immediately with crackers, crostini, and fresh fruit. It’s best warm and gooey, straight from the oven!

Chef Jenn’s Tips
- Use a high-quality brie for the creamiest, most flavorful result.
- Toast the pecans for 5–7 minutes in a dry skillet beforehand to bring out their nuttiness.
- Maple syrup adds a deeper, cozier sweetness, making it great for fall and winter gatherings.
- Want a savory twist? Add a pinch of flaky sea salt or a light drizzle of balsamic glaze.
- If you’re serving a crowd, bake two wheels side by side. It disappears fast!
Serving Suggestions
This appetizer pairs beautifully with a light salad, a glass of bubbly, or even a crisp white wine. It’s perfect for entertaining but also makes a lovely date-night-in starter. Serve alongside a charcuterie board for the ultimate cheese-lover’s spread.

Storage
Leftovers (if you have any!) can be wrapped and refrigerated. Reheat gently in the oven at 300°F until warmed through. The texture will be a bit firmer, but still delicious.
