  1. This was my first attempt at cooking using mushrooms. I used a sirloin ‘steak’ cut instead of tips and added minced fresh garlic. Since I did not have any all-purpose flour on hand at the time, I used whole wheat flour. I cooked the meat using the sous vide method and finished on a Blackstone griddle. The recipe was very easy to follow.
The gravy was very beefy and very flavorful, and the mushrooms and onions were heavenly! I smothered a third of the meat in the gravy and savored every bite! I will make some potatoes, either baked or mashed, and enjoy the rest of the gravy and steak over the potatoes to finish off the rest of the steak and gravy.
Thank you very much for sharing this simple recipe which helped me get past my reluctance to cook with mushrooms and introduced me to a new ingredient. (Maggi Sauce)
