I love making this board when I want something that feels playful and a little different from the usual holiday appetizers. It’s one of those recipes that looks like you spent hours on it, but really comes together in about fifteen minutes. Kids go crazy for it, and adults love snapping photos before they start snacking. It’s become a tradition at our Christmas parties, and it always gets people talking.

Start by setting your large rectangular wooden or charcuterie board vertically so you can shape the Grinch’s face. Line the bottom of the board with salami slices to form the Grinch’s collar. Above that, add a row of green grapes, and tuck sprigs of rosemary in a curved line to create his signature grin.

Continue layering grapes to fill out the face. I use a pair of kitchen tongs or a small offset spatula to help keep the layers tidy. Cut the American cheese into two triangle shapes with slightly rounded corners; these will be the eyes. I use a small kitchen knife or cookie cutter. Place a raisin in the center of each pupil. Use additional rosemary sprigs to form the eyebrows.

Arrange Swiss cheese slices across the top for the Grinch’s Santa hat, and cut one piece into a small rectangle with fringe for the tassel. Finish by layering the pepperoni slices on top of the Swiss cheese to form the hat, and tuck the tassel underneath. Add a heart sprinkle for the nose, and you’ve got an edible Grinch ready to serve!

Chef Jenn’s Tips
- Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes before assembling the board so excess moisture doesn’t make the meats slippery.
- Use seedless grapes that are similar in size for a cleaner, more uniform Grinch face.
- Chill the cheeses slightly before cutting to get sharper edges for the eyes and Santa hat details.
- Trim rosemary sprigs just before assembling so they stay fresh, fragrant, and vibrant green.
Serving Suggestions
Serve your Grinch Charcuterie Board immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to two hours before guests arrive. Add extra bowls of nuts, crackers, or holiday dips around the board for more variety. It’s a perfect centerpiece for Christmas parties, school gatherings, or family movie nights featuring The Grinch! Don’t forget to put out a bowl of holiday cookies to really get in the spirit.

Storage Tips
If you have leftovers, transfer the ingredients into separate airtight containers. Grapes and meats should be stored in the refrigerator and enjoyed within 24 hours for the best flavor and texture. Avoid refrigerating the assembled board overnight, as the moisture can soften the meats and wilt the rosemary.
